The Other Side of the Page

This has less, initially anyways, to do with reading and more to do with writing.

I have submitted, for the first time ever, a piece of short fiction for publication by a magazine.  If all goes as expected, my rejection letter should arrive in 6-8 weeks.  But, if they should accept my written work, it would be really neat.  I think it is a pretty good story, but we’ll see what they say.  It was an interesting process; I had to learn all about how to submit such a thing in what is known as “standard manuscript format” and boy, am I glad I did!  I also had to research how to write a cover letter to an editor – that part was kinda fun, but my paragraph where I was supposed to include my publication references was rather lacking.  Anyway, we’ll see what happens and live in hope.
